Select an application form: The applications are listed under “forms” link. This will open a PDF file in your browser (On mobile it will automatically download the PDF). We recommend using a desktop browser. If you are on a mobile device, you will likely need to have an app that you can use to edit PDFs, like Adobe Acrobat.
Fill Out Application: Fill out all required fields digitally. Make sure to provide accurate and complete information. For mobile: Open the PDF editor and open the downloaded PDF file to edit. * If you’re unable to complete digitally, you can print, fill it out, and take a photo to attach to an email. *
Save Application: After completing the form, save the PDF file with your information. Depending on your which browser you use, you may see an arrow icon in the top-right corner to download, or a save icon. Usually, these icons are found next to the printer icon. If on a mobile device, follow the instructions in the PDF editor.
Email Application: Send the completed application as an attachment via email to adoption@coffeehumane.org. In the email subject line, mention “[Dog or Cat] Adoption Application – [Your Name]” for clarity.
Wait for Response: An adoption coordinator will review your application thoroughly. Please allow 48 hours for us to process your application. Decisions could take up to a week. Response times will vary, and we appreciate your patience during this time.
Follow-Up: If you haven’t heard back in a few days, feel free to reach out for an update on your application status either through email or sending us a message on Facebook.
Our volunteer adoption coordinators strive to ensure the best possible matches between our animals and potential adopters. Our adoption process is designed with the well-being and happiness of both the animals and adopters in mind. While we genuinely appreciate every application we receive, it’s important to note that not every applicant will be chosen. Here’s why:
Compatibility Assessment: Our volunteer adoption coordinators carefully review each application to assess the compatibility between the adopter’s lifestyle, preferences, and the needs of the animal in question. We consider factors such as living situation, activity level, previous pet experience, and any specific requirements of the animal.
Multiple Applicants: In many cases, there are multiple applicants interested in adopting the same animal. We prioritize finding the best match based on the animal’s unique needs and the suitability of the adopter.
If your application is not selected, please understand that it’s not a reflection of your ability to provide a loving home. We welcome you to stay connected with us and continue supporting our rescue efforts. We would love to keep you informed about new arrivals and available animals that have been waiting for their perfect match.
