Coffee County Humane Society offers financial assistance to low-income families to help them spay, neuter, and get a rabies vaccination, if needed, for their pets. Generally, families with income of 150% of the Federal Poverty Level qualify; for a family of four, this is $45,000 annual income. We do request proof of income. Owners are responsible for a small copay to the vet office providing the surgery, with Coffee County Humane Society paying the rest of the bill.
In order to serve as many pet owners as possible, we are only able to assist with 2 owned animals per applicant. Previous applicants are eligible to re-apply after 60 days. Unused vouchers will be voided 30 days from issue date, if no appointment has been made.
Coffee County Humane Society also assists with Trap/Neuter/Release of stray and feral cats who have a caretaker, if we are able to trap. We are always in need of more people willing to trap and transport these cats to and from the vet, as well as providing a place for them to recover.
